Making Christ-Like Disciples, One Person At A Time!

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

As followers of Christ today, this command from Jesus is the engine that drives everything we do! The reason for every gathering, every program, and each dollar spent is aimed at this one thing: To help ordinary people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ!
Several years ago, our leadership team got together and asked the important question:

What does a fully-devoted follower of Jesus look like?

As we prayed and carefully looked to God’s word we came to see that among all the things that may characterize a follower of Christ, these three basic things must be present: As we prayed, we asked God to help invest in making disciples who. . .

Through a personal, saving relationship with Jesus Christ, we come to know and experience the Father’s love and learn how to love Him in return. To love God and love others is the foundation on which everything else rests (Matthew 22:47-40).

“Without God’s love filling us and working through us, we are nothing.” (1 Corinthians 13:2)

We believe that a growing, genuine, and consistent Christ-likeness should be seen in every believers daily life. We believe Christ died and rose again, not only to spare us eternity in hell and get us to heaven, but to truly transform us into His very likeness here and now!
“that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him,being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;”(Colossians 1:10)

Mark 10:45 gives us a powerful description of Jesus’ life, and a living example for us to follow —  Like Jesus our love for God and others gets put into daily action through countless opportunities to share His sacrificial love.
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”(Mark 10:45)

Disciple-making Strategy

Only God, working in and through our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit, can make us into Christ-like disciples. However, so often God is pleased to do His life-shaping, heart-transforming work through the church. Like Jesus, we believe in keeping things simple! We believe that if a follower of Christ will commit to just THREE THINGS each week they will see God work in incredible ways to shape them into the person He created them to be:

Worship is much more than a once a week activity.  It is truly a life-style and takes place when we spend time with God each day through prayer, reading His word, praising Him, thanking Him, and obeying His leading in our lives.

Through our small groups, authentic relationships develop between other believers that encourages and spurs us on to greater holiness of heart and life.

By using your gifts, resources and abilities to help build others up in the faith, and by serving those who don’t yet know the love of Christ in their hearts, we honor our Lord by living out the pattern He set for us. Our Vision Statement.
